Start up to 30 fires with one canister of Spark Fiber. Plus, the canister can be burned after it’s empty. Fire Set will last up to 20,000 strikes.
Fire Starter Kit is ready to go at a moments notice, straight out of the box. No cutting, shredding, or preparation needed. Just take a pinch and strike.
Did you know that most ‘fire starters’ sold in stores are packed full of chemical accelerants? Not ours. Both Spark Fiber and Fire Set are accelerant-free, non-toxic and safe to travel with and store.
This is the best fire starter I've purchased. The blade is solid and is long enough to generate a good spark that will light up a bit of dryer lint with ease.
I couldn't resist buying this. Always wanted to go bush with my fire-making. Works perfectly as long as you have some cotton wool smeared with petroleum jelly to catch the spark. Rub the scraper gently a few times on the rod to 'warm up' then go for the strike-light hit. You'll get a spark the first time. Top the now flaming cotton wool with fatwood shavings and you have your nascent fire. Add a couple of sticks of fatwood and you're alight.
Well built n solid. I like how the striker nests with it. Most strikers are annoying to store in kits. Easily was able to produce sparks. Haven't had a chance to start a fire with it yet due to lockdowns.
Your Fire Set doesn’t need much cleaning or long term care. Make sure to keep the ferro rod and striker clean of any dirt, grease, etc. that could hinder the ability to strike and spark cleanly.
At WG, we typically get 20-30 fires out of a single pack, however the exact number will depend on your firemaking experience and the conditions. In summer when it’s hot and dry, you can get away with using a smaller amount. If your kindling is saturated, you will want to use more.
Spark Fiber is made from the pulp fiber of American White Pine, which is a byproduct of sustainably managed logging operations on the east coast of the USA. The pine pulp chips are virgin and are reclaimed from the timber industry. The chips are cooked in a pressurized vessel which naturally sterilizes them with steam to remove any pathogens that may exist. The fiber is then dried and packed.
